Berlin, 28 January 2020
STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS) has gained two new orders for the operation and fault management of various federal ministries in Berlin. This was preceded by calls for bids by the German Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA), which manages the departments as the federal government’s property service provider. The parties have agreed not to disclose the volume of the contract.
STRABAG PFS’s services for the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) will mainly comprise infrastructure facility management (IFM). In the case of the BMFSFJ, the contract was concluded as at 1 February 2020 for two years with the option for two extensions. The property on Schöneberger Ufer has a usable area of 8,455 m2.
For the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in the Europahaus building and for the Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation (SFVV) in the Deutschlandhaus building, it is primarily technical facility management services (TFM) that will be called for. On 1 January 2020, STRABAG PFS took on high-quality facility management for five years with the option of a five-year extension. The service portfolio for the BImA in the Deutschlandhaus building includes maintenance and repair of all technical building facilities as well as a 24-hour callout service to ensure uninterrupted operation. The property consists of an older building constructed in 1930 with a usable area of 22,700 m2 and a newly constructed building that will be taken over by the foundation on 1 February 2020 and has a usable area of around 7,200 m2.
“We are very pleased at these new orders, which add to a number of existing mandates in Berlin. Due to our existing presence with public authorities and government institutions in the capital, we are already very familiar with the tasks involved. We see the addition of these two buildings as another challenge that will allow us to demonstrate our quality standards with regard to the new property and the different buildings, too,” confirms Dirk Brandt, Managing Director at STRABAG PFS.
